Grapes
for our wine come from the Northeastern "Tre
Venezie" region of Italy, where the Pinot Grigio
grape has been cultivated for over a century. The
Pinot Grigio grape is genetically related to Pinot
Noir and Pinot Blanc, and is easily subject to color
mutation. Skin color of the grapes can range from
a bluish gray to a delicate pink, depending on the
clone and the geographic zone. In fact, the word
Grigio means gray in Italian, although
the juice is drawn off the skins before they impart
a pink tint to the wine.
Winemaker Notes:
The 2000 vintage
Pinot Grigio has a clear, straw color and a pleasant
nose with delicate aromas of apricot and tropical
fruit. |

The
wine displays crisp subtle flavors with excellent
balance and a snappy finish. Seafood, poultry, pasta
and vegetarian dishes are a perfect match for the
harmonious flavors and crisp acidity of this refreshing
white wine.
