Our 2001 vintage Sonoma County Merlot is crafted with some of Sonoma County’s finest grapes. At Gallo of Sonoma, our winemakers have blended a full bodied and complex wine, with aromas of red cherries and rich flavors of ripe berries, spice, and a hint of dried herbs.

With a long lingering finish, this Merlot is a delicious complement to almost any meal, including beef, veal, lamb, and pastas. We hope you enjoy our wine as much as we have enjoyed making it.

Our 2001 vintage Cabernet Sauvignon is a full bodied, complex wine with concentrated flavors of ripe black cherries, currant, and spice. Framed by rich vanilla, this wine has a rich bouquet of dark berries and a hint of dark cocoa. Well balanced, smooth, and integrated, this wine has excellent structure and a long lingering finish. Our Cabernet Sauvignon is an elegant addition to any meal, including those made with beef, lamb, or pork.

Our 2002 vintage Gallo of Sonoma Chardonnay is an elegant wine, crafted to express all the varietal fruit character of Chardonnay grapes. Using some of the finest grapes from Sonoma County, we have produced a wine with structure and complexity. With bright tropical, peach, and citrus aromas and flavors, this wine is enhanced with a subtle layer of rich, sweet oak from barrel aging and has a crisp, clean finish.

Our Gallo of Sonoma Chardonnay is a delicious complement to almost any meal, including grilled chicken, fresh salmon, lobster, or light pasta dishes.

2002 Gallo of Sonoma Pinot Noir
Sonoma Coast.

The largest of the Sonoma County appellations, Sonoma Coast is also the coolest with its extensive exposure to the Pacific Ocean and its marine influences. As an emerging appellation, Sonoma Coast produces wonderful Pinot Noir characterized with high levels of acidity and rich crisp fruit flavors.

Our Pinot Noir is filled with beautiful aromas and flavors of dark cherries and fresh raspberries. Framed by sweet vanilla from oak aging and earthy notes, this wine has a spicy complexity, subtle hint of oak, and velvety finish.

Our 2002 vintage Sonoma Coast Pinot Gris is brilliant in color and accentuated with powerful aromas of peach blossom, fresh pear, green apple and subtly enriched by notes of fig. Clean and crisp this wine has a lively mouthfeel with zippy acidity amplifying its citrus, honeydew melon and green apple flavors.

In all, our 2002 Sonoma Coast Pinot Gris emphasizes the pretty side of Pinot Gris: packed with deep fruit and framed with a balanced, elegant mouthfeel that allows the intense flavors to shine.

Our 2002 first vintage Syrah is crafted with some of Sonoma County’s finest grapes. It is a rich and opulent Syrah displaying aromas of cassis, black pepper spice and blackberry fruit. Powerful and succulent flavors of dark cherry fruit, tar and earthy nuances are supported by firm tannins. Our winemakers’ use of American and French oak impart a subtle vanilla and smoky character, leaving the elegantly crafted wine with a medium mouth feel and finish.

Our 2002 Syrah is the perfect complement to prime rib, steak and venison.
