Turning Leaf Vineyards
Syrah
California
2001
A perfect combination of climate and soil, California is a promised land for wine growers. With passion and patience as our guide, our winemakers craft California’s remarkable fruit into extraordinary wines. A below average crop size, efficient water management, and moderate summer and fall temperatures allowed the fruit to mature to full ripeness despite an early harvest. Our 2001 Turning Leaf Syrah expresses itself with rich ripe fruit with hints of vanilla and black pepper in the nose underscored by hints of dark chocolate.
Varietal Content: 95% Syrah, 5% Other
Residual Sugar: .80
Alcohol Level: 13.5%
This wine expresses itself with rich, ripe plum flavors with hints of vanilla and black pepper in the nose. The wine is medium bodied with soft supple and sophisticated tannins underscored by hints of dark chocolate on the finish.

Our 2001 Syrah pairs deliciously well with strongly flavored dishes such as beef kabobs or grilled lamb seasoned with pepper and spice seasonings
